As I was writing that dialog between Tek Support and Punchline, I was thinking about the old Bugs Bunny cartoons when he would get into an exchange like that with Yosemite Sam. It’s a little absurd, but then again we’re talking about arguing with a clown supervillain. If Punchline shows up again in the comic, I imagine one of his weapons would be some kind of deadly cream pie to the face….
If you haven’t checked it out, my Kickstarter for the Rocked by Roid Rage graphic novel is still up and running and you can check it out here: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/henchmen/henchmen-for-hire-rocked-by-roid-rage-the-graphic
A schoking turn of events!
No, not the deadly cream pies! Seriously, that’s been done.
Or maybe the Balloon Animals of Death! I kind of like that idea….
Ok, now I’ve got the image of the killer pink balloon dachshund stuck in my head…
Yeah, it makes me want to figure out a way to bring Punchline back sometime in the future. Maybe he could even be Mega Mime’s arch enemy. Mega Mime hates being called a clown – suppose there’s a reason for that?
Puchline looks older than either – so i can kind of see him as some sort of dark tutor/slavedriver of a shadow in his past, maybe a press-ganged victim/sidekick in youth while still barely learning the use of his powers…
at first I read that as “pulse beacon” and it didn’t make sense. Then noticed the period, so it’s two commands. Beacon of course summons Achilles, and pulse is some sort of contact shock attack. I was wondering how he could use his tech powers without his hands free, I like how it was handled.
This is just my very late two-cents; I honestly like this format better for the primary style. It is less frustrating and Honestly it is not an issue waiting for a great webcomic to post a new chapter in a realistic time frame be it a weekly, bi-weekly or monthly. The two-panel thing seemed to be a bit cheap and really I’d rather wait a few weeks to a month for quality than see the story be parsed in such small parts that I’d have to look in the archives to figure what the heck is going on. I love the web comic and it’s attention to detail, best of luck on henchmen its one of my favorite superhero reads because of how unconventional it is. – TKG
Thanks for the feedback. I’m not really liking the shorter two-panel format after I’ve tried a couple of them out. The smaller pages seem to interrupt the flow of the comic and make the whole story harder to read. So, I’ll probably go back to the full page updates. The upcoming Monday page will be slightly shorter than the usual, since I’ll be away from my desk at Emerald City Comic Con and I didn’t want to miss the update. However, after that I’ll be returning to the regular full-page Monday update schedule.
I just wait a few months in between reading. The last time I was here was around the beginning of February. Two months later, I can come in and get a decent little story. Next time I check in will likely be after the summer calms down, around the beginning of August.
