The first one – both are holding onto the sword and only the villain gets the jolt.
Second one – Only the Villain is holding the sword and all three get the hit and the background colors may signify the source of the power, positive or negative, it could be. Mom looks to be in rough shape. What happens next?
Well. THAT was unexpected. I doubt Vixx can or will aid the woman. She’s basically a demon of destruction. Mighty Man could help; perhaps now he can persuade Vixx to raise the barrier.
So is this the part when she breaks free from the influence of Vixx? Having a super taking a bolt of lighting is one thing but a civilian? Or if this is the part she is struggling for control the henchmen or the remaining super who I’ll call “Nano” for now can rush Vixx and grab the gem?

That was her MOTHER not some “civilian”
Vixx is fighting for control against her host due to her host’s mother calling for her to fight it. Vixx smote the host’s mother but that just made the host (dana) fight harder
