Brilliant concept here, absolutely brilliant! Okay, the graphics aren’t top notch and I detected a couple of spelling errors, but this is such an original idea I can overlook such flaws.
It reminds me of what a co-worker once said about Xena, Warrior Princess: that the show was about the evolution of a sidekick. There was more going on with it but it was true. Gabrielle started off as a chatty, helpless, somewhat annoying but clever tagalong to Xena’s powerful warrior. Then she became a lethal fighter in her own right, taking up Xena’s mantle and weapon after her capable partner died.
Your comic is about the overlooked people in the superhero genre–not the sidekicks, who often get their own backstory, but the faceless minions, mindless strong men, cohorts, slaves, what-have-you, that ride along on the villains coattails. It’s a bold idea, insightful, intelligent, exciting, well thought out and, most of all, FUN! The story is riveting, the characters interesting and I find myself thinking “What happens next?!”
I can hardly wait for the next installment. Keep up the fine work.
Damn teh penny finally dropped on their names,
“Baseball’s Sad Lexicon”
These are the saddest of possible words:
“Tinker to Evers to Chance.”
Trio of bear cubs, and fleeter than birds,
Tinker and Evers and Chance.
Ruthlessly pricking our gonfalon bubble,*
Making a Giant hit into a double–
Words that are heavy with nothing but trouble:
“Tinker to Evers to Chance.”**
