While we’re in-between chapters, I thought I’d take a moment to present a parody of one of the classic ads that used to appear in the comics that I read when I was a kid. (Along with being a superhero-comics fan, I also loved the old Mad and Cracked magazines….)
The Charles Atlas ad “The Insult that made a MAN out of “Mac” was probably the most memorable of all the ads that I ever came across, and it was a lot of fun to put this parody version together. If you aren’t familiar with the ad, you can see a copy of the REAL ad here: http://www.toptenz.net/comic-book-advertisements.php
Let me know if you liked this page. I’m thinking of doing some other classic comic ad parodies and dropping them in when we come to the end of another chapter.
Thx to Dr.McNinja for steering me hear. The ad parody was well done.
Have gone thru the archive to get up to date. Have linked to the RSS feed.
This’ll be fun.
Cell number… hahaha!
You can always trust a super-villain!
Swarmmmmmmmmmmmmmm……………!!!!!!!!!!!
“If you aren’t familiar with the ad…”
It’s just sad to think there are people who aren’t familiar with the ad. I don’t know what society is coming to.
This is really funny!
Wow! This is a good parody of an ad that goes way back, even before I started seeing ads for Hostess Fruit Pies. This is back in the same era as those “sell Grit” ads were common.
