I wish I had been able to use more of new Henchman (Henchperson?) Lowla in The Rookie, but a lot of her work was sort of ‘behind the scenes’ in this tale, and I was trying to keep the story to a tight nine pages. She’ll be showing up more prominently in the next story arc Origins. and will play a more critical role in the tale.
The Rookie will conclude with next week’s installment, and then I’ll be taking a short break as I prepare for Comic Con Honolulu on July 28-30, where I’ll be hunched behind a table in Artist’s Alley. Drop by and say Hi if you have a chance!
The rest ARE splinters.
or the rest is IN splinters…..aside from that, with how much the ‘supervillain’ is freaking out, you would think that the bat was the source of his power…..and please tell me they grabbed some money in that black backpack from panel 1 so this wasn´t a complete bust….
last but not least: henchperson? whats wrong with henchwoman….or even better: henchwench! YEHAW!
Good work on finishing the job after the “boss” was knocked out.
Henchman would be correct whether talking about man or woman hireling. IMO, the application of “person” where that word should not be applied is one of feminism’s sins against the English language. >_<
Let the record show that I approve the use they’re making of Lowla. Be a bit harder for her to implicate them or blackmail them now that she’s as physically implicated as they are. ^_^
Or maybe he had a sentimental attachment to this particular bat. Present from his dead father maybe. Or it was an autographed bat that had been used by his favorite player.
Also given the fact that they acceded the safe room I think they might have been aimig for something other than money. If that small bag is full to the brim with big bills it’ll still be a small haul considering the fact they could have easily transported more than the one bag.
So yeah, I expect they had a specific target in the safe room. Perhaps valuable documents. Perhaps blackmail material. Or antiques. Or jewelry.
