I’m continuing to work on improving the way I draw my female characters, so here’s a look at an in-progress drawing of Harley Quinn.
The shape of her smile is perhaps a bit off, but otherwise it is well done. I am unsure about the hair color, but considering all the changes Harley underwent in the past years there isn’t really a right or a wrong choice.
Anyway I’m looking forward to your future works.
Its pretty good… But the hair just doesn’t do it for me. I want to say that its too big, but I’m not sure that that describes it right.
Unless the hair is purposefully styled to stick away from the head (i.e. affro, beehive, etc) it follows the contours of the skull. In her case the hair is obviously straight and in-pigtails so you wouldn’t expect a huge amount of extra volume… So basically when I look at it I sort of have some idea of what the shape of the top of the head will be based on the visible portion, and the hair doesn’t conform to it.
