We’ve come to the end of the Dark Legacy story arc, although there are quite a few threads that are ongoing and some will lead into the next big Henchmen tale. Coming up next, we’ll find out more about this Purple Panda person.  If you want to get an early peek at what’s coming up, you can download a PDF version of the upcoming story by clicking on the 99 cent download of Henchmen for Hire Special #1 over on the right side of the page, or you can click here.
Purple Panda. When there is a new superhero around who’s gradually turning purple and has a panda patner… Coincidence?
See just from the panda part, I was wondering if the creative juices just weren’t bothered for this, but more so now that AceOfSpade points out the kid is turning purple too.
You could have at least picked a different animal from the list of Ubuntu releases. :/
I was actually working on “The Recruit” at the same time that I was finishing the “Dark Legacy” story, and it’s probably a reflection of my poor multi-tasking skills that I ended up with too many panda references and too much purple. I was debating what kind of large animal should be the new ‘sidekick’ and I was also considering a large penguin and a giant squirrel. Somehow I ended up with Protector Panda at the end….
There’s a secret society of pandas that secretly rule the world from the shadows.
Every few years, another group tries to take over instead, like the Squirrel Army, the Penguins of Doom, or the Possum Alliance, but so far they have all failed.
The pigeons for some reason seem to have never tried to take over from the pandas, despite it being well-known (by those that know about their forces) that they should be able to at any time. Especially since the events of 2002 which led to their partnership with the Seagull Armada.
You do realize you’re passing on naming the hacker the Purple Penguin. I mean, I know Tux isn’t purple, but still…
The channel 4 news logo sure looks a lot like the Fantastic Four’s. Nice play there.
